I've never heard of a company buying YOUR debt, but there are those who buy debts, and if you owe money, you may end up paying someone else.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Where have you been the last week, we've been inundated with them! :rotfl:
General feeling on the forum is it's fishier than an open tin of tuna on a hot day. What we can't work out though, is exactly how the scam works, how they make money. I think they just take the cash and run, Wrinkles thinks they're DCA-backed. Handyman's gonna snoop thier offices... It's all a jolly good puzzle, you should have a go too, it'll keep your mind occupied!
Companies offering to buy debt from ordinary people aren't new. There was a prosecution of a Mr and Mrs Rankine for running a company called Credit Card Killa, which falsely claimed to be able to buy debt from individuals and then leave them in the clear. Google should turn up the details.
We're all saving a fortune in crossword books here! :rotfl:I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Hi everyone,
As Hannah has said, they probably just take the money and run. I got caught out years ago with a company who claimed to be able to get defaults/ccjs etc removed from your credit file. The initial fee was £37 ish and they then had the cheek to try to get more to remove my defalts etc as my credit file was in such a mess. At this point I told them to do one, but they still got my money and anyone else who was crazy enough to pay. I wish I'd known then what I do now!If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
£2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!0
