A new steamer?

Hi
Does anybody know where the cheapest place is for a good steamer? I bought one last year in Asda and I've used it a fair bit, but when I went to use it tonight it won't work. We'ver tried changing the fuse but the fuse was fine and it still won't work... not sure what's happened, I last used it a few weeks back and it was fine... not sure what happened
So I'd like to replace it if I can.
Thanks
Yvonne

I'm guessing your talking bout a food steamer? I'm after one of these too, I want one of those 3 second steam thingies! Not hijacking, but looking forward to what people can find!0

They have some on Amazon one for about £15 which might be cheaper

Not the cheapest steamer around but certainly the best I've ever used is the prestige Cook n Steam - http://www.johnlewis.com/Electrical/Kitchen+Appliances/Kitchen+Appliances/Pasta+and+Rice+Cookers/544/230196755/Product.aspx
Unlike most electric steamers there are no plastic parts, much nicer.
The cheapest option is going to be a pan with steamer rack for a standard hob - they can be picked up for £5-£10 (I think home bargains have some in for about £8 atm).ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
Have you looked in Argos?

This is ok for just under a tenner.

Thanks everybody.. just got back to this thread. I think when I got mine in Asda it was around £13 and was similar to the argos one, so that is good. However I do really like the look of that M&S one, I presume that goes on the hob rather than electric? The John Lewis one looks good too, but a bit above my budget I think.
Just know I need one, especially as I'm coming up to weaning stage again and prefer to steam than to boil.
Cheers all

I've just been on the asda website and they have one the same for same price too.. not sure if there is any difference in them at all, but they look pretty much identical, anyone know?
The M&S photo makes their's look taller, but not sure if it is, or it's just deceiving?
Might go for one of these though.

I bought the argos one earlier this year and used it loads.
But have since, seen them very frequently at car bootsales, since i splashed out!
I think quite a lot of people buy them and then just don't get on with them, so you may be able to pick up a bargain.0 -
I've had 2 electric steamers in under a year and both of them did the same thing. The base cracked and leaked after a few uses. Get a good stainless steel one which will last you forever-nothing can go wrong with it! I already had one of these and I will not be buying another electric one.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
