Naked Bodycare

Hi, the Naked shampoos are 2 for £6 at Boots (£3.99 each RRP). Also at https://www.nakedbodycare.co.uk you are getting a free white ginger body wash with any purchase and delivery is free if you spend £20 or more.

All these products are SLS free if it helps anyone (they can be hard to track down!).

  • Personally, I think 'natural' should mean 'I know and can pronounce all the ingredients of the product' Unfortunately the law does not say that.

Naked Boost Revitalising Shampoo - Aqua, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Glycerin, Coco-glucoside, Glyceryl oleate, Parfum, Panthenol, Arthrospira species extract, Vaccinium myrtillus ( bilberry ) extract, Equisetum arvense extract, Tropaeoleum majus extract, Rubus idaeus ( raspberry ) extract, Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, Hydroxypropyl oxidized starch PG-trimonium chloride, Starch hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, Sodium chloride, Lactic acid, Sodium lactate, Urea, Levulinic acid, Anisic acid, Tocopheryl acetate, Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, Benzyl salicylate, Amyl cinnamal, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal.

I will consider trying this brand though as my mum is allergic to almost every commercial body cleaning product because of the chemicals they use. Castile soap can get very boring. Hopefully my local store will have it so we can do the 'sniff' test.

An allergy is just as likely to be triggered by a 'natural' ingredient as by a man-made ingredient, and in fact most people with allergies have them caused by natural substances - nuts, latex, shellfish, pollen etc etc. Your mother should try to isolate what causes her allergies - because everything is made of 'chemicals'.

Looking at that list of ingredients I can say that it contains none of the surfactants that are considered harsh to very sensitive skin - in fact, I would say that it might even not be a good cleanser for very dirty hair unless used quite lavishly. This is a very mild product.

The ingredients list does indeed contain substances known to cause allergy. The known allergens are, as in all toiletry products sold in the EU by law for many years now, quite clearly listed at the end of the ingredients label. This is so that anyone with a KNOWN allergy can easily see that this product contains them and avoid it. They are "Amyl cinnamal, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal". These are components associated with the perfume used to scent the product. Incidentally every single one of them occurs quite naturally in, for example lavender and chamomile essential oils. Most people, of course are not at all allergic to lavender or chamomile, but those people who are allergic to either of them would know to not use a product that had these in the ingredients list.
  • These are very nice products; I received a gift box of them for Christmas and they are very gentle yet smell gorgeous. Haven't actually tried the shampoos, but the bath & body stuff is lovely. I find them a bit on the pricey side normally though, so any offers are welcome.
    Thanks OP.

I have been using the naked shampoo & conditioner for coloured hair for the past 6 months and i love it! As i dye my hair a vibrant shade of red i was advised to use sulphate free shampoo to minimise the stripping of colour - hairdresser tried to sell me really expensive salon stuff but found this in boots at a fraction of the cost. It smells divine, my hair is always so shiny and my colour stays vibrant for longer :)
I got ham but i'm not a hamster.....

Well, if you must know, she has Multiple Chemical Sensitivity but most people are ignorant about the condition so I tried to explain it in laymans terms.
