I guess someone has already pointed this out, but this is really worth getting, even if you don't need a sim, as for the cost of one text, you can get 2 for 1 cinema tickets, at practically any cinema on wednesdays, by texting film to 241 from an orange sim/phone.
there is a thread about this somewhere...
We've been using this for months, Wednesday is now cinema night at my house, with student discount it's £1.75 a ticket at UGC Sheffield - it means I could even afford popcorn (if i were willing to pay £3 a bucket!)
