Change of working hours/shift pattern

How much notice does my employer have to give mt to change my working hours..i work 6-2 early shift and 12- 8 late shift weekabout.
.There is talk of our employer changing these hours and there is speculation on how much notice they have to give us to change our hours , and can they do it without our agreement.
I have worked there 5 years on a permanent full time contract..

Thanks
Gary

Sorry but we just can't tell you. It depends on a whole load of things - what your contract says, why the changes are needed, what is a "reasonable consultation period" (if they need one!), whether you are unionised, what the changes are.... There are so many variables that there simply isn't enough information to advise.
