I need creative input!

I'm known for my baking, so have (maybe daftly) decided to do all our wedding cupcakes myself. Because I'm doing quite a few varieties I was going to draw up a little key with a piccie of the cake, and a description so people aren't guessing blind.

Tonight I thought it might be cute if instead of just calling it by the cake name, I had a wedding themed name, and then describe the cake after it. So for example instead of 'Lemon' it could be a 'White Wedding cupcake' or something. But I'm so stuck for names - let alone descriptions! Please, please help me!

The varieties I'm doing are:
Chocolate Guiness
Chocolate Orange
Tropical (also known as a hummingbird cake)
Lemon/Orange
Strawberry cheesecake
Banoffee
Red Velvet
Lavender
Vegan & Glueten free

And if it helps a bit about us: I'm English, H2B is Irish, we met in an online game (World of Warcraft) before first meeting in person in an airport in Cork, we're going on honeymoon to the Maldives and Dubai, we're having a vintage glam themed wedding and the wedding is in two weeks so would really appreciate any ideas please!

Thanks for reading xxx

The tropical/hummingbird one could be called 'Honeymoon In Style' :) which is exactly what you're going tobe doing :) Dubai is gorgeous but I've never been to the Maldives :(

With the chocolate and guiness, you could make reference to you as a couple. As I'm guessing you like chocolate :) and you're h2b is irish, as is guiness :)

You could call the chocolate orange one 'terrys cake'. People will probably ask who terry is but you could make up some really random story :)

Leave it with me...I shall see what other random nonsense I can come up with :)
  • mmm. I'd try and make them a bit personal, like relating to hobbies or your interests. maybe family member's or friends names.

I was trying to come up with some rhymes, but nothing rhymes with most of the flavours you've got!

If you are really into warcraft it might be fun to use some of those words. like orc orange or Banoffee blizzard Azeroth velvet. I dunno, I know nothing about Warcraft i just made all that up, you get the idea though!! lol
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

It is of course up to you, but I wouldn't recommend doing so many varieties. You could always have only 4 and call them

    Something old - Classic vanilla/butterfly
    Something new - Vegan
Something borrowed - Chocolate Guinness (class the "alcohol" as the borrowed bit?)
Something blue - Lavender (and just colour them a blue/purple?)
    I love surprises!

Oh I'm loving the ideas! Thank you so much, keep them coming please! We have two cupcake towers as they wouldn't all fit on one, so I think the old new borrowed blue idea is a great suggestion, and I'll use it for half of them.

Don't just say etc Lindens, give me some more WoW ideas - we were trying last night for an hour and didn't come up with any!!! (btw, which realm are you on? Always got to ask! Its certainly in the more unusual way to meet your hubby, but we were friends online for a year first, which gave us a pretty solid base to start from, and there isn't any arguements about him wanting to be anti social and play on a daft game, because I'm right there too!)

Can't help one bit with the WoW stuff, but one thought occurred to me - any chance you could change the strawberry cheesecake to raspberry and call it "Raspberry Topping" after where he proposed? Leave it with me, you know I love a little jeu de mots! ;)

    That's very sweet, Tete!

I think having fewer variations would be really effective, and a lot less work for you, Dinah.

I love Amy's idea about the Chocolate Guinness cupcake - you could call it the 'happy couple' or 'perfect match' which could refer to chocolate and Guinness or you and NIM... is that too cheesy?! :o

Oh I LOVE that Tete! You're always my girl when it comes to words. I may need to do raspberry instead just to use that cake name! Happy Couple works really nicely too, that you all so much!
