Hi
I feel just the same today. Came on here to seek some support. As you say some days I feel lberated, not from the debt (Iwish) but from the getting in to more debt - does that make sense? Its just good to be in control and live on a budget. But you never know whats round the corner. None of our creditors have yet agreed to freeze our interest and today we got our first default notice from the Post Office.
I've been reading all the DMP forums which are such a help but suddenly feeling really scared as the PO don't mention Payplan or the DMP its just a standard letter. I have sent them a letter this week but this notice was processed prior to when they would have got it. Also they've had the first payment from Payplan.
I assume we need to ring Payplan on monday? Any advice gratefully received. Hopefully I'll be able to help others one day.
That's exactly how I feel. I've received letters from CCCS saying that both credit cards and the storecard have rejected the reduced payment proposal, however I have had a letter from MBNA (Virgin Credit Card) and they say "Although we cannot place you on a formal repayment programme, in recognition of your financial difficulties we will waive future late and over-limit fees and interest charges on your account." which is good. It's just Halifax I am having trouble with, when CCCS wrote to them they stated they had no record of the account when CCCS gave them my card number and they are ringing my mobile daily, I recognise the number so I reject the calls and they leave a message to call them. One of my jobs over the weekend is to send them the please don't call letter and I may include a copy of the letter from CCCS so the can see I am on a DMP and they will hopefully contact them instead.
Good luck Loubylou2, it might be worth a call to Payplan even if it's just to put your mind at rest.Debt-Free Wannabe / Long Haul Supporter 238 - Proud to be Dealing with my DebtsLBM Moment June 2010 DMP with CCCS Started August 2010Total Debt at LBM = £17,602.74 / Current Debt = £16,285.76 / Cleared = £1.316.98 (7.5%)0
