  • Does anyone know the answer to this question either?. When I start my maternity in Oct I am wanting to take 12months off work due to my daughter strating nursery next year and not wanting to return to work till my baby is 1. I get a quarterly bonus from work which is between £200-350 and I was going to save this each quarter to give us income for the 3months of unpaid maternity would the OR allow this if I explained at interview etc that thats what its for or would they say I had to go back to work early as we wont have enough income coming in to pay outgoings if I have no salary.

thanks hope this helps I have updated some figures with comments and given more accurate figures on debt after finding all my paper work today. My bank phoned me today requesting a payment of £50 which I can not make I gave them all the figures but they wouldnt take the emergency, birthday or holiday find into account and when I gave figure for medical including dentist she said is this every month, to which I replied no but if hubby was to need new heyfever stuff would cost more than £20 in prescriptions.

I was in tears after I put the phone down think I need to contact cccs again. She said to make token payment of £5.50 which was 10% of surplus but that still wouldnt stop any further action. Im just scared about bayliffs coming to my door I have no idea what rights they have what to say to them if they do etc do I even answer the door.

    Hope this helps.

    re- bank phone call

I always tell anyone that phones that I am preparing to go BR and therefore I cannot make any offers of payment as to do that would be favouring a creditor which I am not allowed to do

I also tell them that I am not prepared to make any kind of offer UNTIL I have spoken to citizens advice who are dealing with my debts, and that all offers of payments will be made via them - I then offer them the advisors name and office address

If they are persistant I keep repeating the above - it is stressfull though as they get quite shirty - I NEVER make any offers

TBH once we'd made he decision to go BR we ignored all creditors, didnt see the point in trying to compromise with soa's etc. Ignored calls, and the few knocs at the door from the MTG 'relationship liason'.

with the shoes, my daughter was the same, i used ebay allot, found new clarks shoes in her size most times as was cheeky enough to get her ured in the store ;)

Now she has grown i have been able to get her shoes from mother care usually £8-£14 and just as good quality

UM...if it is secured and you are not moving out of the house then it will not fall into the BR as it is a secured loan.

If, as I think, it is the loan part of your mortgage then it is not secured against your house and is a personal loan and is not secured against your house and will go into your BR. Please check this out.

Get your self a new bank account, either a Co-op Cashminder or a Barclays Cash account, transfer your DD's and SO's, wages, benefits across so you don't have to worry about what is going in and out. If the Together bit is unsecured then cancel the payment and don't transfer it.

Get your new account set up asap. If you have caller ID on your phone then don't answer no.'s you don't recognise. If not then let it ring out and do a 1471 and see who it was and if friends or family, ring back, if bank etc. feel free to ignore.

No bailiffs can not come to your door unless you have a CCJ that you are not paying. A debt collecter once in a blue moon may call but they have no rights what so ever and you can ignore them.
