Cleaning stitching on leather: any ideas?

The white stitching on my Filofax is looking pretty grubby – anyone any ideas on how I could get it sparkling again?
I did a quick search on Google but drew a blank.
Feel like rubbing talcum powder into it, or something similar, might help (not that I've got any!).
