Creditflex/Harrington Brooks

We are considering going through Creditflex and Harrington Brooks for a debt management service.

Hubby has read up and isn't so keen. We went through Payplan but they want us to give ALL free cash to our loans (which ok I know we should want to pay off asap), but with 3 kids I can't see it being possible for 6 years. I know it is all our own fault, and I suffered severe depression after I lost a child 6 years ago so ran up alot of debt, I was spending due to my condition and i regret it alot.:o

Any advice?

Never pay for this service , approach CCCS instead , when you apply , pad out ever so slightly on Groceries , emergency fund etc ....

Hi - a couple of suggestions
    1) try one of the other free places Martin Recommends like CCCS, National Debtline or your local CAB
    2) say your groceries are 200 a month - maybe allow 220 a month on your budget - just give yourself a little leeway as prices may increase etc etc
    3) As you may know if you do have an emergency one month - ie washing machine breaks you can take a break or make reduced payments.
    Good Luck

If you feel you won't have money then need to be looking again at the budget you have drawn up with Payplan. You should have an allowance for entertainment/clothes/emergency fund etc. so are you thinking these amounts aren't enough? As mentioned above if you aren't happy with Payplan then try one of the other free services rather then paying for it which is just going to keep you in debt longer.

    Shark alert!

I agree with the others but another option is the do-it-yerself route, maybe using national Debtline (that's National Debtline) for support
