CCJ / Store Card help

Hi
A friend of my wife split up with her partner a few months ago. They still co-own the house whilst it's being sold and he still lives there, she moved out back in June.
He's just called her to say that she's had a CCJ from Next for non-payment. Okay, it's partly her fault for not getting her details updated, but is obviously somewhat annoyed that her once perfect credit rating has been hammered by a CCJ thanks to him not passing bills on.
Any help or advice I can pass on?
Cheers

Unfortunately the duty is upon the account holder to update the creditor with relevant contact details "within a reasonable amount of time" if she has not done this and the claim form has been issued to the last registered address then the claimant has undertaken their obligations and is not really at fault.
The only advantage here is that if the the order has been made very recently then she may be able to re-pay it within the 28 days allowed and it will not then appear on her file. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
I'm surprised that Next were able to get as far as a CCJ in three months? There must have been some pretty heavy post and phone calls in that time.
I suggest she contacts Next, explains the siuation and pays it off asap.
I'm not sure that there is much that can be done about the credit rating

Thanks. It may be more than 3 months since she moved out, I don't pay much attention to such details ;-)0
