Occasional mattress help needed

Hi All,

My mum is coming to stay. Previously we have used an old spare mattress we had on the dining room floor, but the mattress had to go (old and taking up too much space).

So I am looking for alternatives….

Air beds are out, as her husband is large and she is small, so she ends up getting catapulted out of bed in the middle of the night!

We have no room for a sofa bed.

What else is there?

My thought is may be a futon mattress that we could roll up and put in the loft…

What do you think?

How about seperate air beds for them? The ones from Argos are comfy for a couple of nights.

can recomend the aerobed's - bit more expensive than a normal air bed but really comfy and dead easy to inflate/deflate & store

How about the guest mattresses you see in various supermarkets - I know Lidl had them in a couple of weeks ago, if you pop along now they might still have them in. They are basically fairly thin mattresses that fold up, only seen them in single though.

Been looking ourselves as we have the same problem - although I would love to say the catapulting action!!!!!!!!!!!

We've got an Aerobed from Argos to try, if it doesn't work out then it will have to go back and we will rethink....

i can report that the Aerobed was a success. It may be 10 times the price of an airbed, but it works as a comfortable mattress (which in my experience an airbed does not)...

Why not give them your bed for a couple of nights and you sleep on anything suitable - poss borrowed? This of course only works if they don't visit very often.
