WTB: decent LAPTOPS - Help appreciated

Hi everyone.
I have been looking around for a couple of weeks now for laptop deals - i've been looking around these forums, but all the laptop deals are either expired or not right for me - i need 2 different laptops, one for myself and one for a teenager.
laptop #1 (for teen): fairly decent spec but not too powerful, as it will only be used for web browsing, word processing and other light tasks - around £500
laptop #2 (for myself): intel centrino - wireless 802.11g - will be used more demandingly - will pay up to £800
And i was wondering whether anybody could direct me as to where to buy laptops similar to the above... Maybe someone has bought a good laptop and would recommend one to me?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

2 suggestion for good laptops... or the refurb medion ones?0 -
check the dell outlet, got myself a latitude with pentium M 1.6, 15" screen, 40 gig and 512 meg. Stuck a minipci wireless card in it myself (£20, ebuyer) so now i've got a centrino for less than £550 including shipping and leather bag. including a years warranty.
You might need to check the outlet store for a while, before the really good bargains come up. new stock every hour.No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
Thank you.. any more suggestions appreciated!YO!0
