What would you wear as a guest?

Please help with some advice: I've had a look around this board but can't find anything about outfits for guests to wear at weddings.
This is my problem, any advice welcome or point me in the right direction, please.
My nephew is getting married on September 3rd (civil ceremony at a country house hotel). Earlier in the summer when the sun was beaming down I had no worries as I have an OK dress (sleeveless) that would have done fine. I was working on the principle that if I saw something I liked better I'd buy it but I haven't so.... I'm now worried that the weather will be miserable and autumnal and I'll look far too summery.
What are guests wearing to weddings these days? It's an all day affair and we're invited to evening 'do' as well. Should I have two outfits?

Hiya I'm going to a wedding on 3rd Sept aswell and I'm wearing a summery dress. Make sure you take a cardy and a brolly incase it rains and it gets a bit chilly later on. I think most people will wear summery clothes to weddings at the start of Sept. You dont need a seperate evening outfit either, you just wear the same thing all day. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

Id echo the post above. If you wanted to post a pic of your dress we could recommend accessories? x xBump due 22nd September0

Yup - a cardi or a pashmina to cover your shoulders in case it is a bit chilly.
- and a matching brolly just in case.
Up to you if you have two outfits or not - will you be comfortable in your day dress in the evening?
if so, why spend extra money to get another outfit??Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
I went to a wedding in May as a hot spell decided to come to an end. I had a sleeveless summery dress and matching shrug and I ended up keeping the shrug on the whole time. September can be a really nice month so wear something that keeps options open. I did change for the evening but only cos I've got some mega shoes I wanted to wear that clashed horribly with the dress. Normally I'd stay in one outfit all day and I think I was the only person who did change0
