Just purchased first pair of fit flops and am in agony between toes. Have bought cushioned plasters but they keep coming off. Any advice? do they soften up quickly?

I waer flip flops all the time but I wear leather ones which are very comfortable.
The rubber ones take long time to adjust to.
Toe dividers worn for pedicures might help0 -
Hi
I read somewhere (probably on this forum), when wearing them. to rub some vaseline between your toes and also on the toe post
Worth a try.0 -
I cant wear any flip flops but the leather ones and I have to sit and study them first as I also end up in agony with any other kind.
Did I read it correctly - is it the fit flops that you bought - those that exercise your leg muscles as you walk? I was looking at those and wondered if they worked?
I think you will have to wear them a little while at a time - try the vaseline I havent tried that one before. Did they hurt you straight away when you tried them, or only after wearing for a while. If the latter then im sure your toes will get used to them.0 -
Yes it is the Fit flops, I suffer badly with painful flat feet so thought they may give some support. They are hurting inbetween toes and seem to rub on top of toes where v is. Will have to try and wear them in a little over time I guess. Will try vaseline though as toes feel very dry where they have been rubbing.Jan Grocery challenge

ooh chocolate that sounds like it just needs to stretch a little over the v bit - i - have you got any of those socks with the toes (you know the ones I mean :rotfl:) that you could wear around the house to stretch them out a bit?0

I now have about 12 pairs of FitFlops in various colours (including 3 pairs of winter ones!) and FitFlops are all I've worn for nearly 3 years! Some of the pairs do rub my feet in certain areas but with having so many pairs I swap & change them to try to avoid them hurting.
I find it's the 'hard leather topped' ones that rub where as the ones that have the 'webbing' are like slippers! Good luck with them but if you can't get on with them and they are a size 8 I'll buy them off you! lolDEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

re the cushioned plasters, there are actually specific ones for this, flip flop plasters??
not sure if you mean you have tried them or if you just tried regular ones, they have the flip flop ones at my tesco or if not probably at boots
i struggle with ordinary flip flops but i have the oasis fit flops and haven't found that they have rubbed0 -
I have a pair of Fly Flot toe posts - cant say Fly Flot Flip Flops, just had to type that twice before it made sense!
I could wear them all day from the first day i bought them and usually I have trouble with toe posts as I wear boots or shoes all winter then come April and I wear sandals!
The Fly Flots were so comfy from day one - I am a total convert now! oh and my pair are now three years old! I wear them in the house rather than slippers and they still look good enough to wear out! best £20 I spent on sandals!0 -
You can buy gel toe-post covers - like the gel heel/ball of foot cushions. They cover the post so you have comfy thing against your feet.
Aha I have a picture (easier than describing):

I was going to suggest M&S- who have them in the lingerie dept, but you may get them in lots of other places too. They stick to the shoe not your foot so they have stronger glue and should last longer than a plaster.
It's only a game

Agree with Meritaten that Fit Flops are very comfortable...never had to 'break them in' at all, they are leather. I have never been able to wear ordinary flip flops so am very happy with these. would definitely try special plasters.
