  • Thank you for this.

My personal opinion, is that the Acqu Optima system is much better value that Brita.

Their "Double Life Water Cartridges" last for 60-days, and are available from Amazon for less than £1 per month.

This is a lot cheaper than Brita, which at this special price in the post above is £2.50 per month. I use Aqua Optima and certainly does the job of taking out the hardness.

The Aqua Optima filter jug is also available on Amazon for £15
BUT currently available for £10 if you live near Robert Dyas

Buying this jug also supports the One Water African clean water program, but Robert Dyas also stock a larger jug and in fact in store a jug that is the same size as the one above, but without the 60 day countdown timer, for £7.50

All-in-all this seems a lot cheaper than Brita, and is a British company.

Let me know if anyone has had any problems with Aqua Optima (one thing I haven't compared is the speed water is filtered at), and if you think this is a good deal.
  • Confused as showing at £15
  • Sorry, which is showing at £15? The jug is £15 on Amazon, but £10 at Robert Dyas (or £7.50 for the bigger one)

But if you already have a Brita Maxtra Jug or Kettle then its not such a good deal- also its harder to get the filters for the jug you mention, I used to have one but just ended up throwing it away- I know you can order them online or RD, I cannot get to a RD store, online it depends on the balance of my credit card (not good!) so in the end Brita worked out better for me.

I also prefered the taste of a Brita kettle.

This Acqu system is available in Home Bargains for £3.99 I believe. I was looking at it yesterday and wondering if it was ok?

The filters are also £1.29 and also available.

    This was Sheffield Home Bargains.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.
  • still like the Brita brand although the price is higher than others.

Just bought the deal through M&S, thanks!
