Hi
Sorry if this is not the right forum.
I bought an ipod 30gig on the 10th August, direct from Apple, it is now faulty and Apple want to repair it!.
I would prefer to get a refund but Apple say because it is more than 2 weeks old they will only repair it!
Can someone tell me where i stand.
Many thanks in advance

You could try to push them for a replacement, but usually they wont move after 28 days. The law states they must fix the item in a reasonable time if you go down that route.
Anyway - with a post count like that you must know this is the wrong forum for your question!

we sent ours off to apple-they replaced it .0

I've returned items to ipod refurb (as oppossed to taking into an actual Apple Shop). It's easy, and they get them back to you in decent time, and they look brand new.
If you want a refund you could always stick it on Ebay instead?
Or try arguing it out with them (although their CS is @rsey and unhelpful IMHO).0 -
My son dropped his ipod and smashed the screen after only having it for a week and Apple quoted £170 to fix it.
I claimed off my insurance and got Comet vouchers for a new one. When I got the new one from Comet they asked if I wanted to buy their insurance, I said yes.
Now we are on our fourth Ipod (frozen screens etc etc) but because of the Comet insurance they always replace it. Manager in Comet said I really shouldn't have got extended warranty as they are not supposed to sell it on Apple products.:hello:0 -
Sale & Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 gives consumers the right to choose between repair or replacement, Partial or Full refund, Rescission of the contract provided that the fault appears within five years and it is reasonable for the goods to have lasted that long. If the complaint is made within 6 months it is the onus of the seller to prove the goods were not faulty at time of purchase. If complaint is made after 6 months the onus is on the consumer. Note that the fact it was working at first doesn;t mean it wasn't faulty at the time of purchase.Bought, not Brought0
