CEFA Training

Hi, I am looking to progress into a career with banking but most positions require CEFA status.

Can anyone advice me where the best place to get this training, I have checked a local college in Belfast where I am now living and they only do CEMAP.

Any advice would be greatful as I have recently moved to Belfast from England and am struggleing to find a job.

thanks in advance

Darren

  • You can do it by self-study from the IFS School of Finance, which is the awarding body.

However, remember it is not a guarantee of a job. If a bank requires you to have CeFA, it means they are expecting you to flog investments, probably with challenging sales targets.

It will also not be sufficient if you subsequently want to become an IFA - that will need you to get DipFA - which will cost an additional £600 if you do it direct with the IFS and pass everything first time.

you are better doing it with Ifs for about £600 or Monster recruitment network, they actually give you the Materials free of charge so you dont have to pay for it, they added it to their membership area for graduates, very helpful company if your trying to enter the industry also.
