My partner and I are currently saving for a house deposit and have started getting housey bits and pieces to put away. I really want to get a fancy pan set but dont want to pay the earth. This said I dont want any cheap tat either. I want something worth the money. I'm thinking around £100 for a 5 pan set. Anyone bought a nice set recently or know of a good quality make I should look out for?

Dawsons Dept Store - I've never bought pot and pans from them, but only ever had the best service buying crockery.
This is where I'll be getting pans from when I have the money!0 -
Here's a selection with the lowest prices I can find.

i would highly recommend a viners set. We brought a set similar to this in the sale last year and its fantastic quality. http://www.viners.co.uk/products.asp?partno=NB2460

Do also bear in mind that the house you buy might have an induction hob, or if you decide to have one fitted; you will need pans which are suitable for this type of hob.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0

I wouldn't recommend Viners. I've got a red Viners pan set at the minute and they've had a few issues:
The sides have a red coating which turns black after use on the hob
The frying pan doesn't have any non stick and so can be a real pain
I bought a Tefal set from John Lewis in Birmingham on a bit of an impulse purchase after having all the windows in my house open after cooking some rib eye steaks.
Tefal are without a doubt the best....not sure how much they will set you back though.I'm kind of a big deal0 -

i swear by the cook's essentials range from QVC - affordable and durable!
read the reviews on the attached link and see for yourself.
Good luck with the house-buying - I too am saving for a deposit and will buy things I like/see that are on offer as I go along.
