Which magazine should I try?

Not sure if this is in the right place.
I want to use my tesco clubcard deals for a magazine subscription.
I have had Prima and Essentials (a bit too many food bits for me) before. Dont know whether to try Red or Woman and home?

Any preferences?

Im a young 47, like a bit of most things but not an avid follower of fashion, recipies or celebrities!!

Well, I have a subscription to Red. I am 33. It appeals to me because the articles read as intelligent and the fashion features aren't targeted at teenagers. Mind you, it does assume its audience has lots of disposable income: Travel and fashion recommendations are often way out of my league and there is a huge emphasis on shopping. It still makes good reading though.

"Psychologies" is good too. More wellbeing and relationship articles and slightly less fashion and beauty.

I loved my subscription to Red and agree with omi1 re the large disposable income. Usually nice gifts too which come with the subscirbers copy. I am your age and did have a sub with She which I really enjoyed; have read Woman but preferred She or Red. Happy Reading.

I don't use my Tesco Vouchers.

I would go via Quidco (and get £4 cash back)

Subscribe to a magazine with a free gift like Psychologies (currently £6 for 6 months by Direct Debit - with a free makeup bag)

    http://www.isubscribe.co.uk/Magazines/Lifestyle/Womens-Lifestyle/Psychologies.cfm

So a free gift and only £2 for 6 magazines (after the cashback).

ISubscibe pay up. I never have any issues.

Then cancel subscriptions with email request - never had any issues there either.

    :)

Be quick, only 17 free gifts remaining........

  • Or Marie Claire £12 for 6 months with free Body Shop Butter

So £8 for 6 issues and a free gift worth around £10 (via Quidco)

    http://www.isubscribe.co.uk/Magazines/Fashion-&-Beauty/Womens-Fashion/Marie-Claire.cfm

    or

    Woman and Home

£11.99 for 6 magazines and Body Shop Body Butter

So again £7.99 for 6 mags and free gift (after the cashback).

    http://www.isubscribe.co.uk/Magazines/Lifestyle/Womens-Lifestyle/Woman-&-Home.cfm

All 3 are good mags and ones I subsribe to. (I am 42, 2 young kids)

Not sure you get the freebies with Tesco Vouchers.

i have subscribed to all the magazines you mentioned at some point. I found the 'Prima tended to focus on the older reader who might be interested in crafty hobbies such as sewing. Essentials is down to earth in that it does subjects such as fashion, cookery, gardening and other subjects which might be current topics, with the recession they have been doing articles on moneysaving tips and how to get more for your money. The fashion featured is always reasonably priced and tends to be from the high street. If you want to sit down for a coffee break Red is good although as previous posters have said I think it is aimed for the person who does not have to watch costs re. fashion etc. Woman and Home tends to appeal to the older woman (in my opinion) who has had children and now wants to enjoy life and has the income to do it.
I never use Tesco vouchers to pay for the subscriptions as you pay the full price for the magazine sub. whereas if you go onto magazine subscription websites such as lets subscribe or the magazine group you can often get some great introductory deals, so long as you rememeber to cancel the direct debit.
    Hope this is of use.
