Hi guys,
I have been a part of this forum for quite some time but did more reading than writing and wanted to give something back for all the really good advise I got for the site.
I am not selling anything nor giving any guarantees this is something I have noticed my self and might, if anybody can replicate it, be quite interesting.
I am almost 39 my hair has been going white for a few years now it has happened very slowly. It initially started on my sideburns and progressed on past my temples increasing the amount with each year, In the last year I also noticed that my hair strands were getting thinner and weaker.
What changed in the last 6 months is that whenever I had a shower I started to dry my hair thoroughly massaging it with the towel and not just a quick pass and let it dry on its own. I wasn't doing so hard to pull my hair out but enough to give my scalp and hair a good massage. I was concentrating especially on the parts that were going or has gone white.
After a few weeks I noticed two things my hair strands were getting thicker and my white hairs were going back to brown. In six months a lot of my white hair has gone except the sideburns that are taking longer I can only think it is because they were the ones that have been white the longest, for years now.
This is no quick fix nor is it a definitive one as there are still white hairs but it is a lot better than it was, I wish I had taken a photograph of the before and after but at the time I was not expecting for this to happen I was doing it more or a relaxing massage thing after a shower.
Please let me know how you get on.

You could also try using a microfibre towel rather than an ordinary one it drys the hair quicker so less tugging etc and keeps some of the moisture in the hair shaft rather than it all being absorbed by the towel, doing this has made a huge change to the condition of my hair but I couldnt comment on the grey/white ones as mine are happilly covered with dye and will be staying that way;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Hi glowgirl and thank you for your message,
I am actually using a small microfibre towel for my head, I have no way of saying this for sure but I think, it is the massaging the hair and the hair follicle that might have affected the white hair, or it might just be a coincidence that is why I am posting it to see if other people get the same result.
Worse case scenario you give your self a good relaxing head massage.
Take your time when doing it drying is not the only thing you are trying to achieve and don't rub too hard you don't want to damage your hair.

Hi there
just a quick note, just out of curiosity can you please let me know if any of you are going to try it?
Whatever the result can you please post it. I would give it about 4 weeks to start seeing the results and remember to concentrate on the areas that went white first.
Thank you

Hi ive started getting my hubby to attempt an indian head massage a day and hopefully it will work. I have had outstanding results with philip kingsleys supplements for hair, my hair is thicker and at the front my hair was lighter where you could see my scalp and for the first time in years its so thick .
I dont know about grey as ive been using semis after a year of highlights i had to stop and put some condition back.0 -
Interesting !
Excerpt from http://hairfoundation.org/hair-library/article-gray-hair.htm
A genetically-regulated, age-associated signal-a "melanocyte clock"-has been proposed as a cause of age-associated hair graying. Investigators suggested that melanocyte aging may be associated with "free radical" damage to melanocytes, which are subsequently subject to death by apoptosis. Interestingly, these investigators also hypothesized, on the basis of work with animals, that mutations in melanocyte signaling could allow melanocytes to survive apoptosis and recover their function. Melanocytes that recover their function could, possibly, regain the ability to produce melanin and reverse the process of hair graying
How long do you massage for each time? have you made any other diet/lifestyle/medication changes during this period?
I think I'm personally beyond redemption now anyway but, no matter, if you're getting the end results that's great!0 -
Hi Bronnie,
Thank you for your message. My approach was far from scientific as I was not expecting this result.
I am nor have been on no medication
I have not applied any products for my hair.
I use the same shampoo that I have always done and wash it the same way I have always done.
What did change was the way I dried it. I went for quite a long period of time just letting it dry it self, a quick rub with the towel and then just leave it to dry. When I mean quick I just mean 1 pass to stop it from dripping. I was not a conscious decision that is what I did for about 2 years as I had my hair quite short at that time.
As I said at the beginning my hair has been going white very slowly but for about 4-5 years and it started from my sideburns and working its way up the temples. When I started growing it a bit longer I noticed that not only was the white hair more noticeable (obviously) but that my hair was thinner I am not talking about bold spots but the strands were thinner, my hair was sitting flatter than it ever had before with no volume.
I wasn't particularly worried as I attributed both to age. As my hair grew longer I had to dry it more but could never be bothered with the hair dryer, so what I did was to spend more time with the towel. I started drying it in sections making sure every part of the head had had equal attention, (this is something I had never done before). I spent in all about 2-3 minutes doing this, it doesn't sound that much but it is when you do it.
I got 2 things out of it straight away my hair was humid but not far off dry and it was really relaxing. After a few weeks I started noticing that I didn't have as many white hairs but again thought noting of it, as it continued to regress I go curious and started spending more time on the parts that were still white and it seems to work, the parts that have been white the longest are taking more time and it is going more slowly but I would say 60-70% has gone back to the way it was.
The other thing I noticed is that my hair strands have gone back to the way they were, not because I measured them but because I can see the volume in my hair, (I didn't perm it).
I don't know how long this is going to prolong the colour and body in my hair but it is worth doing if nothing else for the relaxing feeling you get after drying it like this, (don't be too rough with the hair), and the fact that it costs you nothing to try.
Even if your hair is white you might still get something out of it.
Take care
