Shoe string, not a problem. The main concern would be matching fabric, however, Dessy do sell their fabric by the meter so that solves that issue. xx0

A lot of strapless dresses come with spaghetti straps that you can wear with them. Certainly strapless dresses I've had from Coast have had these, and my BMs wore Dessy strapless dresses that came with optional straps...
Re prices, keep an eye on the Coast sale (unless you need BM dresses in a hurry!). They regularly add new lines and have a sale two or three times a year (though it seems permanent this year!). They often reduce £150-200 dresses to less than £100.

You can check out full price dresses below, make a note if you like any and wait for them to be reduced if you have time.

I'm sure Dessy do something similar. I've altered a few very similar to this. I'll be back!
thought so. http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2749/

My bridesmaid has just found her dream dress in Coast in the new stock. She isn't 100% sure of fit so it may need altering but she has her heart set on it. I darent risk it not being around in her size come sale time so am sure I'm going to end up buying it next week when we go shopping again0
