Cleaning Duvets

Hi
I am using my summer quilts at the moment and thought this would be an ideal time to clean my winter ones (never had summer quilts before so this is all new to me!)
We have Hungarian Goose Down quilts which cannot be dry cleaned but can be washed.
I am thinking of taking them to a dry cleaner but am not sure how much they will charge (what is the going rate?) and if there is anything I need to know to ask them beforehand.
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Sorry to hijack this but we've got a feather bed (double)the type that sits on the mattress under the bottom sheet and I've been wondering about the cost of dry cleaning it also0

Check out your local laundrette etc which will have a set price for laundering or DIY. Often some some dry cleaners have laundering facilities as well + have seasonal offers which is gret when you want to sort them out before putting them away.
Mine were done really well and also bagged up which helped.0 -
We have a Mr Duvet (that's the business name!) who collects locally, washes and delivers back the next day. We then hang it over our banister to "air" for a couple of days.
I think a King size duvet cost me £15 this year. I found him in my local Friday Ad and have used him for 3 or 4 years now. He must have very big washing machines!0 -
In Bristol you can get a laundrette to wash and dry a king size duvet for £11, or you can use a large machine yourself which'll be about £5, and then use the dryers which are 20p per 3 minutes (you need at least £1's worth, if not more).Sum quod sum.0

Hi
As this had dropped down the OS board, I have moved it to I wanna to see if you can get some more responses
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
thanks
