No problem, always ready to help out the pressure cooker massive:D
Anyway, before I go to work in the morning, I weigh out 250 gr of chickpeas and put them in the PC, cover them with water and soak.
When I get back from work I then change the water, add a dash of oil to help with the foaming and then put the lid on, bring to 15lb pressure and cook for 15 min.
Use natural release method.
This makes just over 2 can's worth of chickpeas - one is usually used up right away and I freeze the other half.
You can do the soaking thing overnight if it suits you better.0 -
Thanks guys,I am still swithering, altho my head is telling me to buy the kuhn rikon,(ive got a gas hob,the electric PC is 1000watts)im such a sucker for kitchen gadgets, and the electric one is sooo gadgety looking:cool:
The kuhn rikon also has a 10yr guarantee(electric one is only 1 year..altho Lakeland do have a no quibble lifetime guarantee, dunno how this would work if the electric one broke down after the guarantee ran out, almost £100 is a lot to spend on something that may only last 1yr.
I wish there were more reviews available for electric PC's..i did come accross some you tube videos of an American lady cooking loads in her cuisinart electric PC,very impressive.
I like the idea of the kuhn rikon needing very little water,i feel the 300ml minimum i need to add to mine can be too much.
oh,decisions, decisions,oh well, ive got until next Wed' (PAY DAY)to research and decide..thanks for all the info guys, very much appreciated, will update when i buy:think:
Theres a Tefal shop in a center about 20mins drive away,i think i may visit it on my day off and check out the electric one??Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

300ml minimum? I have no idea if mine has a minimum liquid amount as I've never bothered to read the instructions (and nor did I with my last pressure cooker either), but I'm sure I use nowhere near that and I've not burnt anything yet
To be honest it sounds like you've already talked yourself into buying the electric PC! But I honestly can't think of a single reason to buy that rather than a stovetop one.0 -
angeltreats you are so right,I did very much want to buy the electric one, BUT,ive discovered it only cooks at max 11 psi.(Tefal very kindly Emailed me the details when i contacted them).so theres no point in me getting it,my prestige one cooks at 12psi and i want one higher not lower,so thankfully i dont have to deliberate any further,im ordering the kuhn rikon from Lakeland(this was my first choice anyway and I was only interested in the electric one when the price dropped),im looking forward to trying out the new pressure cooker,if i order tomorrow then im hoping itl be here in time for my days off work Tues + Wed next week.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
