does anyone know of any sites offering Edinburgh Zoo Discounts?

or if you live in Edinburgh or nearby, are there any vouchers on the back of the bus tickets? (they've done this in the past)

we're going to Edinburgh for the 30/31st and I really want to take my wee one to the zoo but it's gotten so expensive.

in true MSE fashion I got a room for 9 quid, train tickets for 15 quid and loads of cheap food deals as well as using luncheon vouchers (cuz i'm doing this on a shoestring) so if anyone can help me with this I'd really appreciate it!

ps i should add, i rarely ever shop at tescos and so have only a few pence in tesco vouchers, no deal for me there i'm afraid

£26.50 for an adult and child sounds pretty expensive to me.

I can't help you on the discount front but, as an alternative, you could try the Butterfly and Insect World which would cost £11 for the two of you. Even with bus fares I can't see it costing more than about £17.

thank you for the suggestion. we've actually been there several times already and she is soooo very keen on the zoo, especially as she wants to be involved in animal conservation so i think it will have to be the zoo (though i do recommend the butterfly house, nice place and most tourist information sites have discount vouchers for them too)

one small discount is the price you quoted is with the optional donation added too it, my actual cost would be 23.85 without the donation

i'll pay the full price if i have too as long as the weather isn't awful

i just noticed on their website that if i have a kids go free train ticket from scot rail i can get her into the zoo for free.

it says my fare would be 14.40 so that would be nearly 10 quid savings... i might be able to get a partial refund on the train tickets i already purchased as well, i'll look into that this week. i think i'll wait til closer to the day before buying though as if the weather is poor we won't be able to go but i suppose that is a convuluted savings

if anyone else has any suggestions i would still appreciate them

    cheers
