I rinse them again so they're wet, then stick them in for 20 or so minutes at 100.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

If you don't want to put the oven on, I have used Miltons sterlising liquid (or own brand version, obviously) for this too.0

An alternative is to do them in a microwave.
I wash and rinse them well then leave a little water in the bottom of the jar and microwave on high for a minute or so depending on the size of the jar.
Just be very careful as they will be very hot.
If using them for jam etc I put it in whilst they are still hot. This works fine for me, my jams have not gone off using this method.

I have read that the hottest dishwasher setting is enough to sterilise them for jam etc.0

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I want to make some jams and fruit gin, but don't have a dishwasher to sterilise the jars. Can I use milton instead do you think? I have the tablets and could make up a solution in the washing up bowl.0
