Is it an old case? As CSA1 cases are usually quite old pre 2003 iirc.
  • yes its an old case from 2000 its on old rules but i closed it back in september and reopened it within a week so i was in the 13 week bracket

I would like to imagine it is not 'normal' but judging on some of the posts that have arrived here, it is the usual long waiting time and passing from pillar to post. Does not sound like it will be a swift resolution just yet :(
  • Are liable to compensate me in anyway for their mistake or is that too much to ask??? As I have lost out on money now since April and I know it will get added on the arrears which are already at 4k.

This doesn't make sense?! If you close an old case down you have to wait 13 weeks to re open it, not a week.

I think what she means is that she changed her mind, re-opened the case again in 7 days (which is under the 13 week period so should have been re-opened under CS1 again) but the CSA opened the case under CS2
  • Yes LOOPY GIRL that is correct, thats what I did
  • They did send me by post the assessment on new rules csa2 but from Nov 09 I was told repeatedly it was old so was shocked when I got the letter on new rules and complained by email through the relevant procedure and as I stated the complaints officer phoned saying that yes it was on CSA1 as i initially thought it was but recieved no apology or letter of confirmation to this.
  • I would keep going with the complaint as it sounds like they have not given you an adequate answer. I would request compensation for their maladministration also. This may or may not work as they usualy quote something like 13 weeks minimum to do a re assessment, possibly longer. My case is clerical at bolton and I don't expect anything in less than 6 months - 13 weeks for the re assessment or change of circs and then another 13 weeks for it to sit with the quality dept. All within their allowed timescales apparently!

    Best of luck.

  • Thanks Dizzy, It would have all been sorted if they had done it on CSA1 in the 1st place they have all the info they need as they have already done an assessment on CSA2 which was there mistake its just so annoyin and its been a week now since mt 3rd complaint and still heard nothing!!!:(
