There's a Netto withing walking distance from me, but since I'm fussed about my food and want everything organic, and I'm not strapped for cash, I only go in there for cheap tissues, toilet rolls etc and never had a really good look around.
Today however I spent some time in there, and although I still won't look at their food shelves, I was stunned at the savings I made on household items:
Ther washing powder, for example, is sooo cheap that at worst it can be mixed with a more expensive one to make it go further.
But the real surprise were baby wipes at 89p for a pack of 80, and Philips energy saving bulbs: 49p for 18w (100w output) and 47p for 11w (60w output).
Methinks I'll keep an eye on it from now on.
Anybody finds it really good for other things? I'm prepared to be further converted....

Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Netto do often have very good home wares and cleaning stuff and we only get this stuff from ther plus our local has a butcher attached which is great so I go and stock up on toilet rolls and meat.
Its a shame that Netto seems toget overlooked by Aldi/LidlProud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -

I've noticed that - with what I bought today I reckon I've saved about £8! OK so now I'm grossly overstocked with household items, but they don't go off and will last me a long time.
I must admit I did look at their dairy section as I consume a lot of stuff like cheese and milk, and some of it looked ok I suppose. Maybe I'm too fussy...:oBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
For things like Milk you cant really go far wrong.
I used to go to netto many years ago when I was at uni and I remeber thier mushroom soup was good.
Aside from that havnet seen any around london ? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
The Netto near me actually has organic veg!! Not a great selection, usually basics like potatoes, carrots etc, but I've found them very good quality.
They also do good naan breads & wraps, which seem to be bought in from specialist producers (they're not Netto's own brand).
Heinz purists will be apalled, but I have to confess to a liking for their "own brand" reduced sugar baked beans.
And don't get me started on the booze deals - not very OS I know - the one near me has 500ml bottles of Marston's Pedigree for 99p at the moment.
Cheers

I like Lidls as alot of their food is additive free - I only buy organic fruit and carrots as I like to eat the skin.0

The one I'm talking about is here in Acton, West London. There aren't that many though, I think there are more Aldi and Lidl on the whole.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
The Netto that I know of in London is in Stamford Hill, E5. Not been in there for at least 5 years. It used to be a horrid place to shop in but cheap. No idea if its changed or not as I don't live in London anymore.0
