I am gutted, having checked my free credit report the annual credit report place it seems my barclaycard and capital one card are the two reasons my report is so bad, I obviously don't want further credit, far from it but I was under the impression I was in a better state than this !

How long will it take before they are taken off? if I settle them in full will things be more favourable?

What does the report say about your barclaycard and capital one card? Is the report showing late payments? Is this factually correct? If so, then you need to ensure that you make all payments on time - a direct debit should help and in about 6-9 months you should see an improvement.

If not then you will need to contact Barclays and Capital one, explain that your credit report is wrong and get them to contact them to remove the late payments.

Give us more info on what the report is showing - don't panic, we are here to help!!!

I had made late payments before my lightbulb moment, just didn't realise the impact it would have, silly me ! I have since been making at least the minimum payment on time for the past 6 months, is there any way I can bring this back up to scratch a bit quicker?
