SimplyBroke,
Could you sell the cars to pay a lump sum off the debt and use public transport for a while? You should at least try to sell one of them as if you go bankrupt you wouldn't be able to keep both.
I see someone else has already suggested this0 -
£100 here and £120 there isnt gonna dent £70k though is it.
Im sorry.. I havent looked back to see how old you are job etc etc.... Im 29 going for the big B next month. OH and I are £130k+ in the cr4p and its all because of bad advice... but... you know, who cares... Get rid, you will have the repercussions for 1-6-7-10 years... but just calculate how long it would take if you were to pay it of with wages.
Please feel free to PM or email me....

Why is everyone under the impression that OP has 2 cars? My feeling is that he means "other car expenses". Am I wrong?0

I'll think you will find as a society we pay for lots of things that other people benefit from.
For example I dare say your daughter will be going to school soon and I dare say this will be free aswell. Why is it free? Because 'mugs' like me help fund it through paying taxes. Don't be so narrow minded as if the whole world is against you.
I apologise for my last comment about not helping you. But how about you start your own thread and we will see how we can make life better for you. What do we get out of it? Nothing. We do it because we have all taken advice, support, and motivation from this site for nothing and it's about giving something back.
In return how about you don't make assumptions and accusations about peoples lives and situations without knowing the full facts.
In case you missed it, please read this!

I didn't really mean to offend anyone SS, I guess I want people to realise there is another (generally unheard) side to this sort of lifestyle (to which I am dissapointed Martin doesn't seem to acknoledge) and the sacrafices people like us feel we make to seemingly maintain this crazy culture of debt.
I did read Martins post and I quoted a part of it that actually offended me but you obviously missed this. It is now deleted (a shame).
We have a lady from the CAB working for us at the moment thanks she was compiling a letter to No 10 for people in our situation but has since gone off work sick. She had officially retired afterall. Anyway maybe I will post if things don't move on soon, I might appreciate your help
To the OP - I appologise if I appear a little 'sensitive'. I urge you to please consider a life without 'luxuries' until you have at worked out how to sort your finances out. I am by no way meaning harm upon yourself or others in similar situations, I hope you sort things out but in saying that, I hope you also bear some responsability for the position you have let yourself get into.0 -
We probably got off on the wrong foot. However I don't think its fair we keep hijacking this thread! Sorry OP!
Please feel free to post a SOA of your own. I haven't seen a person yet that we couldn't help.
The thing about having to pay for others mistakes/lame attitude to money is a totally different debate but what I would say is that the money credit companies lose through bankruptcies etc is all calculated in their lending rates but thats another issue another day!
