Hi, we were lucky to buy our first property 15 years ago when prices were much lower.

Our mortgage is £60k with 14 years left.

    Both aged 38.

Monthly payment is 28% of net monthly income.

I have just had to reduce my hours at work because of my son being diagnosed with a chronic illness. This came totally out of the blue and has had a big impact on our finances. We were thinking about extending our mortgage to do improvements to the house and I am glad now we didnt.
