iTunes Won't Accept My Maestro

Not sure if this is in the right place, but I received my Maestro card from Natwest for my Student Account a few days ago. Today I tried to link my 'Servicecard' to my iTunes account which previously was linked to my Dad's Mastercard. I put all the details in correctly (I think!) and it came up claiming that it would not be accepted??
Is there any reason for this i.e. does iTunes not accept Maestro (although the Switch symbol is there), or is my card not activated (I haven't received my pin yet but I did pay a cheque in using it today).
Any help would be greatfully appreciated, thanks!

Ye use maestro as you would with a switch card
Alternatively use your dads mastercard and just transfer the money using online banking everytime you make a purchase.
Glad to see someone else using itunes it rocks![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Based on what you said...
You probably haven't activated the card yet... they wont send your pin until you do, and neither will you be able to spend on the card!!
Did you read the instructions on the sticker that was on the card when it arrived? lol
Pop into your branch and ask them to activate it, or you can do it via their online banking website.
Then it should work fine0 -
In the meantime, u can buy iTunes gift cards from Sainsbury's and stuff!0

Also make sure you have entered the correct 16 digit code. if its anything like HSBC card it has around 25 numbers and no hint to which are the correct 16 to choose. - I gave up and used mastercard!
Also be careful with the address, if you use uni and the card is set for home or vice versa it won't accept.
or just buy lots of coke with free song codes :>
