Dummies guide please to making Tibetan Silver book marks

Please be kind. I am not the most confident with crafting and things but am very much trying lol. I just wondered if anyone makes Tibetan Silver book mark's and could give me a dummies guide of what to do please?

I expect I'd need either ribbon (what width is best?) or some kind of cord? will it just thread through or do I need a needle or something? what size beads will I need as I have no idea (see told you I was a dummy :rotfl:). Do I tie a knot or use glue to apply at the end to secure the beads on? I've also seen people put charms on the end of them too.

Thank you for any help, I just don't want to waste money buying the wrong things and I'd really like to make some for gifts rather than just taking the easier route of buying.
