Today's plans

Well I was up early with my 2 year old this morning and its a lovely sunny day out, so today's plan at the allotment is to build some raised beds (2 kids allowing!) :rotfl:

I was wondering what plans everyone else has today?

Moving leeks into final position; picking an array of beans [in their dried shells, it's that time of year when they start drying out - yay], getting all the seeds from my parsnips [tons and tons and tons of them], a little light weeding, and collecting more courgettes of course, that goes without saying.

Recovering from last nights party, got friends coming over and going geocaching. I might even venture into the garden and do something :)

Mowing the lawns, a bit of weeding. I'm going to attempt to reign in my tomato plants and I might look up how to make green tomato chutney as not having much look ripening. I going to bath the tortoise but need full sun so he does not get too cold. Washing bed linnen.

Don't panic. Going by my dad's garden every year there is plenty of time for them to red up.
  • My greenfingered plans for the day:

    Pick courgettes

    Pick lettuces

Attempt to cross vegetable patch to pick courgettes and lettuces - no mean feat as pumpkin plants are so huge they are now occupying all but a tiny portion of the patch. Courgette plant is giving them a run for their money mind. Might plant some smaller things next year! Nah that's not nearly as fun :D

  • Kids were good managed to put together two of the three raised beds even when my power screw driver ran out of juice. Also managed to dig the beds over ready to fill up with manure in the next few weeks.
    Picked some blackberries
Off to the beach now with the kids to play some footy then back to the house to make some Blackberry and Apple crumble for pudding tonight!
