Tribunal waiting times???

Hi all, I'm NRPP and OH is being taken to tribunal under allegations of 'lifestyle inconsistant' 'undeclared assets' etc. (we are CSA 2 case only started sep 09) We were told months ago tribunal date was likely to be in the region of Jul 13 but we have heard nothing yet. Nasca tell me we'll probably only get about 2 weeks notice of the actual date. I was wondering does anyone have any experience on how far behind their admitted waiting lists the tribunal service actually is?

And for those NRP's who been through the system did you wait for the tribunal to ask for documents or did you submit them in anticipation of what would be required?

Thanks in advance

    Appealed in Feb 2010
1st Hearing End of April 2010
2nd hearing End of Jun 2010
3rd Hearing End of September 2010

I would supply all the evidence beforehand (copies) and if you feel confident ask for tribunal to hear the case without you being present. This can be heard within a couple of weeks i recently found out. Sometimes it is hard for you to get the information from the tribunal service as you are only another case to them.

I am a PWC who went through a tribunal.

First contact was made with the NRP in Nov 2008 and the Tribunal wasn't until March 2010.

This was due to my disputing the claimed income from the NRP, having to fill out a variation form, having the variation turned down, requesting the CSA look over the paperwork again and then when it was turned down again asking for a Tribunal.

All paperwork was requested up front before the Tribuanl and part of the delay was because the NRP did not want to provide some of it.

Personally I would not recommend an NRP does not turn up. My ex had several large sums of money going in and out his bank account which he was asked to explain. They turned out to be gifts from his parents and he was able to show this, if he had not been there those payments may have been assumed to be income and he might have been assessed on them.
  • I'm PWC and have been waiting for a tribunal date since December 2009! CSA_Help - I think you were lucky!!

Even the tribunal services strongly advices all parties to attend the tribunal hearings. I won't miss it, if nothing else, to watch my ex squirm in his seat and explain why he has not contributed to our daughter for more then 2 years now. :)

    I must be lucky :)

I think it depends where you live in the country also. The first one shouldn't have adjourned as there was irrelevant evidence handed in that he couldn't use or dismiss it as pwc didn't turn up which resulted in a 2 month delay.
2nd time for clarification of figures another 3 months delay.

I do know some cases take longer than others but as mine has been heard before i don't think i will need to go again as i'm not taking more time of work as holidays.
