Hey Day Dreamer Girl, welcome along, hope I dont bore you all to death with my ramblings lol.
Well Baby Shower planning last night, made all the invites by hand, so lots of cutting and sticking, very purse friendly and look good even if I do say so myself.
Just need to sort out the games and food now!
Apart from that I have been very naughty and still not checked what I can overpay, I MUST remember to do this tonight. I find I forget all my jobs the minute I get home from work, and even if I write them down I usually forget the list lol xMortgage - 72,500 - Aug/10

Hi jeep1uk, want to wish you luck with you goal - I too am starting to think about ways to decrease my mortgage having bought my flat 2 years ago on my own.
Thought I might be able to give you a few ideas for your baby shower - i held one for my sister last year
I decorated my flat with pictures of my sister as a baby and made lots of the banners myself.
I had a few games too - a predictions chart - each person filled in their guesses on a chart i made under the following headings - date of birth, time of birth, length of labour, weight, eye colour, hair colour, sex and once my Nephew was born the person who got the most correct guesses won a bottle of wine - plus the chart has been put in my nephew's keep sake box as a momento for when he is older/
ALso, guess the size of mummy's to be tummy - a ball of string was passed round and each person cut a length of string they thought was the size of mum's tummy - then the the mum to be held each round her bump to see which was the most accurate
I also had a small guest book so each person who attended could write their wishes for mum and baby, any advice from those with kids (I'd invited our mum, aunts and grandma as well as friends) and some people even wrote predictions for what baby may grow up to be - again a nice keepsake for my sister.
For my present I made a nappy cake - it acted as a centre piece for decoration and then my gift to baby. It took a while, but looked great and as I bought nappies on offer and bits and pieces weren't too expensive and it was a really practical gift for my sister and she used each component. There are guides on You-Tube on how to make them - not sure how to put pictures on here though!Mort at highest - June 2008 - £171,000 - Daily Int 5.9% = £27.64:eek:Offset Mort - Nov 2010 £150,299- Daily Int 3.75% = Nov £15.44Mortgage Jan 2012 - £136,000 - Daily Int 3.75% - £3.100 -

Ok so finally got around to finding out how much I can overpay on my mortgage, 10% of the total amount. So thats a grand total of £7,250 a year. However there is no way I could ever afford to save up that much, so I will have to settle on how much I can afford. Still not sure what this figure should be as it seems the minute I seem to have some money aside something comes up that I need to pay!
Im thinking that maybe I could think about setting a target to pay off before the end of the year to motivate me, maybe £500. Not sure how feasible this is but i will give it a try means overpaying by £100 a month. Now just need to find a way to find £100 before the end of August. xxMortgage - 72,500 - Aug/10

Ok so thoughts about the first £100, thinking maybe selling some CD's on music magpie, putting a couple of dresses on ebay, and a few games for the nintendo DS. Hoping that these will total up to nearly £100 then I can top up the rest from wages. Wish me luck for high bidders. Task for tonight is
Find the items I want to sell on ebay.

I'm pleased I'm not the only one who has good intentions of ebaying things but doesn't get round to it. I've got a pile of old text books that are begging to be sold but the thought of figuring out how to package and send them just makes me loose all interest. Not very MFW of me.
This weeks task is packed lunches all week except Tuesday when I'll be away from the office and won't be able to take it with me.Lil

Em, I just sold one for £65 profit on amazon - is that enough motivation for you :rotfl:. Really, really easy to do
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
