Just wondering...

I was just pondering if anyone thought WHEN you enter a comp affects your chances of winning? I am aware this may seem a silly question...but have people found they win more by entering near an end date/start date etc?
I'm obviously avoiding realy work whilst I think of these things lol.

I've heard some people say that its better to get your entries in early, the earlier the better, but I havent found that it matters... i've entered for everything i've won a few days before theyve ended. But then again i've only ever won 3 things so maybe i'm doing it wrong
Best wins: Tefal pan set, microwave, £500 shopping vouchers, £500 Princesse Tam Tam vouchers, £100 cash

Winners should be picked at random for most competitions, so I can't see how it matters...
The only thing I would say is that sometimes the end dates for competitions on here can be wrong, or simply unknown, meaning that its better to enter them as they are posted rather than when it comes round to the estimated end date as it may not still be active.0 -
I wouldn't have thought that 'when' you enter would affect your chances of winning, if 1000 people enter that competition you will still have a 1 in 1000 chance to win regardless if you enter as soon as it is posted or 5 minutes before it closes.
Having said that, maybe when you enter may have an impact on the prizes (if any) you win that month, ie someone entering earlier may win a book from one competition and someone entering later may win a washing machine from another, with both entering the same competitions.
As the odds are random and fate/luck is highly unstable/impressionable by many factors... I wouldn't pay it to much mind.
Enjoy comping and if you win it's a bonus

I started comping march this year, and enter the day before they expire and as you can see from my signature I've been very lucky!

I sit every night after kids go to bed and enter all the comps that have been posted that day, regardless of end dates. I just find it easier to go day to day rather than by end date. but it's pure luck, good luck everyone
