  • Mine flickered for about 18 mths but the oh wasnt ready to agree to a DMP... last year was horrendous, he became ill, my dad almost died and remains very ill,my house flooded basically life threw allsorts at us and debt really was the least of my problems.... looking back how i got through the last year without cracking up i dont know .

    But this yr by July i'd had enough i wanted to start living again not existing, i want to do the nice things in life so we've entered into a DMP and hope to be debt free asap.
  • My LBM came when I had run out of places to hide the letters (from hubby and myself) :o.

    2 months into a very long journey. Have kinda turned this wesbite into my addiction now, reading other peoples stories and journeys make me determind that I will be debt free, and somehow that determination keeps me going wjile i'm on the excercise bike.

    So here's to being debt free and slimmer by 40 :j.
    Don't Judge anyone until you've walked a mile in their shoes......
    Proud to be dealing with my debts - LBM 29/07/2010 = Debt at LBM £8,412.93
    [STRIKE]£5267.50[/STRIKE] £3740.84 left :o, dealing with it one day at a time and no longer alone.
    Planning to be well on the way to being debt free by my 40th :eek: - 03/10/2012
  • Mine came when one night on the way home from work, I stopped to take £10 out of the cash point. The message on the screen flashed (as it had done many times before) that I could have the £10 - but I would be charged £25 for the privelege!!!! An uprising of anger at myself saw my head fly out of the sand (or wherever else it may have been buried for the 8 previous years), I declined their kind offer of charging me, drove home and logged onto here.

    I hate to think how much my bank charges had been up until then - I think it was something like £2000-£2500 in 3 or 4 years! That still makes me angry and anger will get me to my debt free date..... one way or another!
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
    end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
    I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    My LBM was having no money left cos I was spending soooo much servicing my debt and also the interest I was incurring was continually taking me over my limits and then Id get dinged for that!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

    I am now a reformed character, still get stuff wrong but am much more 'mindful' of where my cash goes..... Marrying a man who doesnt believe in debt has helped loads lol :rotfl:
