Heart - I just mark the ones that aren't suitable for me (baby stuff, tickets for gigs in england etc) as entered so that I don't keep opening them again esp if they are bumped
Once again, I can't believe I didn't think of that!

Heart - I found it hard to get my head around this site at first too - I am ashamed to say the first few months I entered comps on here I didn't even think to click the thanks button & it was months before I even realised the compers Inn existed!

:jWell done on your win sheils - I think the points should be used for a girlies night away:D

Do you know any other local scots compers who would be able to go on a free girlies jolie with you:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have just read back. Amilucky I am so sorry to hear about your wife it is a terrible illness. My mum has also has vascular dementia and half the time gets me and my daughter mixed up. However, as your wife adores Tina and it will hurt both of you so much if you have her pts I wouldn't do it. Therre are some tablets the doctor can rescribe that might help a little in the short term.

It could be that the noise from outside the door (flats don't have space) is making Tina think someone is trying to break into your home and this is why she ripped the carpet up. Can I ask if you leave the radio on for her? When I was working I used to leave the tv on for my dog and in the winter I left the hall way light on too so he wasn't in the dark on his own.

Maybe there is a teenager or a person who has had to stop work due to stress who would be willing to take Tina out for a walk or for a couple of hours so that you can go out and about without worrying. Having a pet is very helpful for peopl with dementia which is why a lot of nursing homes now have doggy visitors who call in to see residents.

I hope you manage to sort something out and that your wife responds to treatment. Big hugs to you, your wife and of course Tina who realises something is wrong with her 'mum' but can't understand what.

I DO feel you pain & dilemma!
as if one thing isnt enough, without all this other stuff, you have 'big much' on your plate,
it must be extra hard. :(
I loved my dog, he's gone now, but in my own opinion sorry if I'm wrong
if Tina is adding to the problems you already have, you must do whats right for your lovely wife & you.
I wouldnt put her down though but try & get help or a new home where you could perhaps keep in touch with her.
i think your step son is a wee tad insensitive in suggesting so...
only you the dog owner can make that decision.. sorry!
    He meant well tho.
it would break your heart, & things are tough enough for you.
the best bet would be ... as you are now, facing up to it, its not a
disgrace to you, that your dear wife has dementia, you need to continue to accept this & please please admit you need all the help you can get.
If you could get Tina sitters, walkers etc that would allow you to go out, as step son says, this would be the best i think.
failing that a new home where you can keep in touch, but you are indeed moralistic & i dont think euthanasia is an option as yet.
God bless you my dear mse friend
never be afraid to ask for help when you need it, otherwise it wont come knockng your door
(i know this from my present painful experience.)
do remember to take care of you (the carer, husband) too!

    Red x
ps, my gran had dementia i helped with her, its hard! my dad had mental illness for 20 odd years due to a horrific road accident, all head injuries & I'm a carer for my big bro with mental health probs,.
I had to get my wee Ben to sleep when his health deteriorated.
No one knows 'exactly' what you are coming through.. but some of us have similar experiences, so you are not alone.
I admire you Amilucky, you are a strong man, believe in yourself!
remember please to get som 'me time' x

You don't stop laughing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing! Take heed and pass your laughter along to people who need a laugh. I thought you would enjoy this....times are tough right now.....for all of us...so we need something to make the day a happy place. They haven't found a way to tax you for laughing yet. :D;):):rotfl:
