The kids really want a dog. I would like one too. There was one free to good home in local paper last night but it was gone by the time we phoned. I'd like one that was lovely natured & great with children like a golden retriever, but they're so expensive!
Hi Wingoblins,
not sure if this would interest you but my sister fosters for a charity called Friends of the Animals RCT (www. friendsoftheanimalsrct. org. uk/ take out spaces) and she says that they have several puppies in at the moment. They have foster carers all around the country (so there could well be someone near you:j) although the main base is in South Wales. The dogs are kept in homes with families so they should be able to tell you if any dog is good with children, other animals etc.
There is an adoption fee of £150 but that covers initial vaccinations, microchip, worming and flea treatments which you would have to pay for anyway with a new puppy.
If this is too much you could always consider fostering yourself - they reimburse you for food and vets bills and can arrange to look after the dog if you go away. My sister's children are used to fostering now (probably helps that they have dogs of their own as well which stay after the fosters leave) and like meeting the different dogs that come to stay until they find their Forever Home.0 -

they're very tame here, where we used to live they'd only come out at night & run like heck when they saw a human, but here they just stroll along early in the morning & evenings :rotfl:& don't take any notice of us :rotfl:NoNameWoman wrote: »Catfish can grow as large as this :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Mine not yet as big but they aint for silly hungry fishermen no way ....
