Best of luck to you & Alice with your move Amilucky. Glad you're getting things done straight away! (Nothing as stressful as moving into a new home with lots of work needing doing!)

Clicked like for you nips :)

redbull, I had those calls last week & one was very abrupt with me!

Was fuming earlier, kids wanted to make cakes so went to shop for icing & stuff. In queue a woman pushed in front but I did'nt say anything. While I was paying I asked son to go put basket back in pile which was near doorway (they're quite lazy in my local shop). I hadn't realised basket pile was quite high and as DS was trying to put it on top the same woman walked out and shouted loudly to my son..f..ing hell, stupid watch where youre putting that!! I heard my son say sorry to her even though he hadn't done anything! I flew out after the woman and told her not to swear at my son like that again!! She said he was messing around so I argued back saying I watched him trying to put basket on pile! I never argue but she got me so wound up! :(

Anyway, after that adventure me & kids had fun making cakes, only...I forgot to put them in cake cases again :o so they come out looking like puddings! :rotfl:

Just had a bit of a shock the painter and decorator has just telephoned and quoted us £800  I got a lump in my throat and nearly choked!!!

I have reluctantly agreed and he is beginning work tomorrow evening ;)

not quite sure what the going rate is but this seemed to be a bit OTT for a one bedroomed flat

swings and roundabouts really we''ll be saving on the rent so easy come easy go I suppose :)
need a beer now to calm down

    Best of Luck :)

A, just asked Paul as before he got into Oracle data bases he was a decorator, back in the day he said (90's) he would have charged £600 including Materials xxxx

So £800 unfortunately to him is reasonable xxxx

  • £800 doesn't seem too bad for a 1 bedroomed flat tbh, we're paying almost £3k for a 3 bedroomed house  although that does include a small bit of plastering work.
2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,

A parcel was delivered today but was missed. Not sure if it is from a comp as I don't enter many anymore , just one or two.
I'm trying not to be excited but i've hospital and the clinic this week so needed cheering up!
Maybe it's a book as the only other comp I can remember entering was a laptop one and i'd explode with glee if I have won that:eek::rotfl:

fingers crossed for you it's the lappy Angelic :A

hi amilucky, we've not long moved into a 2 bedroomed flat &
had 3-4 quotes, cheapest we could get was just over £1,350 & that was without the bathroom being done as we had it all tiled instead,

wingo - good for you :T
bet your cakes are lovely :D:D

    Hi all

Just a quick one to say, Amilucky I am pleased the landlord has been understanding, hoping the new flat will bring much happiness and security to your family x and hope you win a nice cash prize to make up for the decorating expenses...

Wingo, this woman sounds like an utter idiot!!!!:mad::mad: I, too, would have made it my business to ask her to keep her mouth shut.

I have had an absolutely horrendous day on my first day off ... been in tears all day but it's ok ...I feel like a fool :o emotionally very charged.
Tomorrow I have to pick up a very dear friend I have not seen for 5 years from an airport in a different city ...not looking forward to the early journey but looking forward to her company, she will be staying with us for a few days...I am off this week..

I miss the inn already :eek: I better get comping away x

Hope your all having a good day - my second day of trying to comp up to date and already im so sidetracked - but as I said yesterday it really will have to wait until September until I can get back to my couple of hours a day - I hate the fact the wins have dried up and realise how much I loved them
If any of you have chance can you click on this link for me - ive been working for this compnay since February and they are such a lovely couple who have provided me with a chance to earn money around being a full time Mummy, I would love them to get the recognition that they deserve - its called my secret kitchen and if you can click "like" by their name I would be very grateful. THANK YOU xxx
