Savvybunny & Fin hope you have noted the problem on the thread about the skimlinks it's a large box on the right hand side of the boards I really think you need to so they know it really is a problem.

I use avast and that wasn't picking the things up until I updated and did a deep system scan and then it did.

Fin is the site you posted a free site or do you need to pay for it please? My son has an antispy software thing on his pc but it is up to it's limit on the number of pc/lappy's he can use it on so I can't use it myself.

I have my firewall etc set to alert me and close the site down when it detects a thread so all I can assume is that whatever is in the trojan is bypassing this notification thingy.

I will let you know if anything else happens if I can.

im sure the spybot will be free
im not sure i know what all this skimlinks stuff really means to me
it can take me a while to grasp things
but i dont like to think im monitored in any way whilst on the net or anywhere unless a gorgeous guy mibbe wants to check me out :rotfl:

Hi Crin - spybot is free but it is not an AV programme it is good to do a deep scan & finds thing most AV software misses but isn't a replacement - will go off & search as I think AVG is still free

back soon.......

I keep getting phishing messages up since skimlinks was installed on the site - I will be speaking to the techs at work about all this tommorow

Hi Crin - had a look on the tech board on here & general opinion is having Avast & running spybot perhaps once a week should be plent to keep your PC healthy & free of malware/trojans etc
