Slow Cooker/Pressure Cooker/Ceramic Hob

I am trying to decide whether to buy a slow cooker or a pressure cooker.
I'd like a slow cooker for casseroles, rice puddings etc.
Having just visited my sister-in-law in France who made some delicious fig chutney in a pressure cooker, I'm also considering one of those to save on time when making jam/chutney.
I've read the indexed collection on slow cookers which is a great help.
However, I visited Amazon's website and, on looking at the pressure cookers, I saw one reviewer say that they cannot be used on a ceramic hob. Is this so, and why? (I have one "instant" ring on my ceramic hob but the others are just standard ones). The ceramic hob factor may help me make my mind up as to slow cooker or pressure cooker!
Advice and help please.

Personally I'd go for the slow cooker. I do have a pressure cooker but rarely use it for that purpose since I heard the tale of XMIL spreading pea soup all across her kitchen ceiling when hers explodedOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

a slow cooker is electric - hence the reason you can't use it on your ceramic hob.

I was in fact referring to a pressure cooker and its compatibility with a ceramic hob.0
