Been away and my £1 watering system worked
Been away for a fortnight (yes I was posting on here while on holiday, sad I know) and came back to find all my veg flourishing!
Was going to post this before I went away but wanted to make sure it was ok.
To water all my baskets and containers I basically ran a soaker that I had bought from the pound shop all the way along to top of my baskets and placed my containers beneath them.
Ok when I say a £1 it was actually a tenner as I had bought the timer last year for £9 but still a heck of a lot cheaper than those hoselock systems and the pressure of the water that comes out of the soaker spreads the water enough to do a good area. If you need to do a larger area you can always buy 2.
Went in the garden this morning and picked 2kg of tumbling toms as well as a dozen aubergine and peppers!

The timer you bought, can I have some more info please, its sound slike a good idea for my garden when I am away on holiday.
Thanks0 -
I bought one from Aldi earlier in May and that didn't work - came up with what appeared to be an error message so I took it back.
As I need a timer for next week I did some research a couple of weeks ago on the timer linked above after first seeing it on ebay. I was put off by the reviews on Amazon.

Whilst looking at Amazon I noticed that the Hozelocks are half price and have brilliant reviews (and plenty of them!!) so opted for the £15.99 version. At short notice, I'd rather pay the extra money over the budget one to decrease the risk of coming back from my holiday to find all my hard work in the garden and greenhouse dead!
