Parking in Bristol...

Hello - hope this is the right place to ask:
I have a new job starting on 1st Sept in Bristol and I live in Gloucester...
Parking seems to be a nightmare in and around Bristol so I was hoping to find out if anyone knows any good spots or has any ideas where I could park every day?
I have researched the park and ride - £28 a month - and that (at the moment) is my best plan although it does prolong the journey!!
If any one has any info - or suggestions, then please let me know.
Many Thanks

You could be in a bit of difficulty here. Bristol City Council is introducing a residents only parking scheme in areas surrounding the city centre despite opposition from the locals themselves.
You could consider getting a season ticket for one of the carparks like Cabot Circus or Trenchard street. To be honest though the traffic in and out of Bristol can be pretty bad and the park and ride may not add as much as you think if the bus uses one of the many bus lanes popping up everywhere.0 -
Thanks - so park and ride is not a bad option then? The one I have seen is the M5 Junction 18 one which apparently takes about 25 minutes to get in....
...and sounds like driving in and finding a parking space isnt going to happen then?0 -
Find out which street has all the doctors/detistal practices and park down there

The local council can't charge for parking on those streets and can't put yellow lines down them, for obvious reasons.
Park for free and walk, or maybe get a folding bike? or an electric go-ped?
I save over £90 a month by doing this, once the local residents head out to work the street is empty all day.
The local council have left 100's of deserted streets with yellow lines down them in a bid to drive to people into either paying £4 a day to work in the town or using the unreliable park and ride.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Well anything is possible but you must realise that BCC are a load of car hating hippies and will aim to make your life as a motorist more difficult as time goes on.0
