It does seem spectaculary unfair that the council does not benefit from the majority of sale proceeds. It would be interesting to know how the money was/is reallocated and what its really spent on - is there any way of finding that out?
You mean you have not seen MP's and their cars and chauffers
It's all gone:eek:If you don't get what you want - you'd better hope you want what you get

plus they would have to get together al0t of money as deposit and rent in advance, also alot of people wont accept housing benefit, do credit checks etc.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

Most of those in genuine need would qualify for Housing Benefit and pay less than the market rate (or nothing) though0 -

so in theory that wouuld mean that some of the housing benefit paying the mortgage would pay the rent on the council flat maybe? very wrong.
Also not many landlords accept housing benefit because of the risks, and if someone who claimed full hb wanted to rent soewhere they would have to gt a deposit plus a few months rent to cover until the hb is sorted - so it's not that easy.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0
