Having a wobble

Good morning on Friday 13th its good to read this board and get help and give advice(peeps in debt with same companies as me) I did have a slight wobble yesterday on getting my first Default from MBNA it really surprised me they were the first as they have not given me too much grief and I owe them the largest amount after wondering what to do with it I have filed it away(some advice from here) and await the onslaught from the other companies too been on my own DMP since April this year open and honest with OH now over money but I must admit its hard to keep going I have tried hard with the school hols and not spent what I dont have on the kids first time ever so that feels good may decide to sell the house (this would help got some equity) but not sure so a little bit in turmoil at present, but is this all Friday 13th syndrome or living with the harsh reality of debt
Words of encouragement accepted

Yes they are but my very supportive OH has just taken a job elsewhere (better pay) and its 2 hours each way driving so the guilt trip has hit me again so have mixed feelings at present :(
  • Hi Winner12, I dont have all the knowledge but I also dont think you should sell your house.. how much left until you finish your mortgage?
Also, I know the feeling about school holiday and trying to not spend anything!! How old are your kids? Mine are only little, so even homemade play dough can keep them occupied for.. errrr... 5min lol. I also bought some games and puzzles from ebay and I am trying, as much as I can to stick to 40.00 a weekend.. but honestly trying to alternate.. 40.00 one weekend then 20.00 the other.. etc.
I think we all have some bad days and good days, just try not to think too much about it. You have done the most important.. dealing with it all. I am sure you will feel better tomorrow x

It is not a crime to be in debt , first pay your priority debts , eg , mortgage , council tax , utility bills , this is a must , these come before anything work out how much you need for car , petrol , groceries , normal day to day living expenses , kids clothes , see what you have left then pay them what you can afford , if it is a pound a month to each of them then that is what you pay them , dont ask tell them , they may threten you with all sorts but there is very little they can do , ask them to freeze interest , they will pass the debts on to a DCA then your position gets stronger . how old are these debts by the way .
