Nope, they're best viewed with the naked eye.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Were you looking in the right place?
The peak was at around 2am and it was incredibleI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Hi,
I am still waiting for the clouds to break here in Leicester. Pouring with rain so hopefully the clouds will clear. In the years when I have been lucky enough to see the shooting stars you need to be patient.
Lying back and looking straight up for at least 10 minutes. (No pun intended) As long as you can clearly see stars you will see the trails which are fast and stunning but vary in intensity. You are seeing small grains from the tail of a comet hitting the atmosphere - size really doesn't matter
There will be a chance for the next few days to see more but none better than last night and tonight. If you don't get lucky put the date on the callendar as it is an annual show. I promise it is worth seeing.

Is a good quide for other meteor showers and how many to expect.

Is it on again tonight?
We're in west of mid scotland and saw a few last night, not as many as I'd hoped, and were out between 11 and 1am.
Then woke up this morning with a sore neck.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

Hi
I have seen a few shooting stars tonight (Sat) in the midlands. Very bright fireballs so hopefully will improve over the next hour or so.

I went out the night before at twilight with scarf, rug round me legs and picnic chair - got dive-bombed by a bat! Then my cat jumped on my lap - not a dickie bird. Saw Orion's belt and the plough, and had a horrid thought, what if it's all going on behind me. Big son came out to the garden at 2 am and suddenly three all came at once, fast and out of the corner of my eye. I was shrieking and son was shush-ing me because we have new neighbours. Then about half an hour later another two. Then I got very sleepy. What a treat.0
