Car Insurance Post Bankruptcy

Hi Guys,
I need your expert advice again! I was discharged from my Scottish Bankruptcy in November last year. I have lived without a car for several years now and I'm now in a position to buy a cheap run-around.
My question is probably really daft but will I be able to get insurance from any companies with BR on my credit file and will it make it more expensive? Are there any particular companies that are BR friendly? Also, how do I go about getting quotes without numerous checks on my credit file? Any help would be much appreciate.

You can use any of the price comparison websites, or Quidco, Top cashback are good options.
Personally i used quidco, and got insured through Swinton, with the insurance company they used being Zurich. I got a great quote & i also got £40 cash back with them. I also have my home insurance with Swinton and had no problems.
Also OH is with Elephant and they don't have a problem with discharged BR's
We are post BR being given an ED in July 2009.
Hope this helps.0 -
I am with Direct Line and they don't even ask about BR. It seems to be home insurance that is affected more by BR.0

OH is with Esure, and so is our Home insurance. Do a price comparison and just double check with the company.Don't let your fears stand in the way of your dreams. :A0
