Credit Searches - Too Many???

Hi,
I have recently applied for a car through my company. I am required as a guarantee on the contract so as expected a search was carried out on my credit record.
All fine, credit approved, order in, new car on it's way :-)
I have checked my record and it would appear the finance company have searched my record three times for different amounts very close to each other. I can only guess this was due to the spec changes (Colour and a couple of options) that were carried out before signing the contract.
Can I apply to have two of these searches removed as I only have one credit account as a result of this? Is this incorrect on their part to be searching someones record again and again for the same thing?
Thanks in advance.

In the grand scheme of things, with a good credit rating I don't think you have a problem. The companies looking at your status will be able to interpret what they're seeing and probably guess what's going on. I don't think you can get searches removed but I think you can ask the agency to add comments (check by giving them a ring). I'd be more worried about multiple searches by different companies or rejections of credit.
Hope that helpsI'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.

I think searches can be removed if they were done in error. It does depend on the searches too, were this listed as quotation searches or actual application (FULL) searches? Its only full searches that can be seen by everyone.
I would take to the credit reference agency first and see what type of search it is, if its a full search speak to the company.
Searches all fall off after 12 months anyway.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
